About

Hello, my name is Joanne Bergamin.

Australian-born writer and public relations expert Joanne Bergamin has been living and working in Rome for the last twelve years, most of them inside the Vatican, where she has had the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of institutions from the Pope’s newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, to the Pontifical Swiss Guard where she found her husband (or rather he found her)! Now she incessantly photographs and writes about her adopted countries of Italy and the Vatican. And when she’s not travelling or writing (or running), she is assisting aspiring young entrepreneurs from her desk at the Institute for Entrepreneurship, John Cabot University, Rome.

Prior to moving to Rome, Joanne worked in marketing and public relations in the mining and energy industries throughout Australasia. She holds a B.A. in German and Organizational Behavior and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Human Resources from the University of Queensland, where Joanne also graduated with an M.B.A. in Organizational Change. Once in Rome, she picked up Italian and a job for Prada on Capri! Then she got serious and completed a Diploma of Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas and began working inside the Vatican. The rest, as they say, is history!
